Air Source Heat Pump Installation

We specialise in the installation and maintenance of Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) with a dedicated care plan.

Meadowhead Renewables are accredited installers of Vaillant, Vokera by Reillo and Grant Air Source Heat Pumps.

By forging close working relationships with these manufacturers, who are all leaders in their respected fields, Meadowhead can now draw from their extensive expertise and technical support to offer high quality Air Source Heat Pump installations with extended warranties.

We offer our customers a varied choice of ASHP types including Hybrid systems utilising both gas and oil as back up energy sources.

Our favoured Heat Pumps are:

Vaillant AroTHERM Plus

Reillo NHXM

Grant Aerona R290

We offer a comprehensive yet straight forward process that will keep you fully informed throughout.

This starts by first contacting us and arranging a free home survey to assess the suitability of your home for the use of a heat pump.

We value our integrity and are not sales driven. Therefore, if we don’t believe your home is suitable, we will inform you of this and explain the reasons why. During discussions we will offer advice on measures to make your home suitable for a heat pump or other viable energy solutions. Please see our heat pump FAQ section.

During the survey our assessor can carry out heat loss calculations which is the first step  to designing your heat pump system and your journey into renewable energy!

What are the environmental benefits of heat pumps?

Not only have heat pumps grown in popularity due to how energy efficient are, but they are also an environmentally friendly way to heat your home. Heat pumps operate by using renewable energy from the air, rather than the fossil fuels used by traditional heating systems. They are a lot more efficient than boilers and have a long lifespan, so you can reap the benefits of a heat pump in your home for many years. If you wish to reduce your carbon footprint, a heat pump is an effective solution.

Reduced Carbon Emissions

All types of heat pumps generate their energy using an alternative approach to traditional boilers and heating systems. They are powered by fossil fuels, which contribute to greenhouse gas emissions and pollution in the atmosphere. With heat pumps being able to take energy from both the air, they do not need to consume fossil fuels. This makes them a much cleaner alternative that can help reduce your carbon footprint.

Improved Energy Efficiency

Another important impact of installing heat pumps in your home is their energy efficiency. The most efficient heat pumps can provide up to three times more heat energy than the electricity they consume. Traditional heating systems cannot compare to these levels. You can expect a modern boiler to operate at a maximum efficiency of 94%, whereas heat pumps can reach efficiency levels of 300%. As a result, you can expect to see a transformation in the amount of energy your home uses.

Renewable Energy

Whereas traditional heating systems use resources such as natural gas or oil to keep your home warm, heat pumps use much more sustainable sources of energy. This puts less strain on the planet’s resources and also helps to protect the environment.

Reduced Bills

By drawing heat from the natural air, heat pumps have less reliance on electricity for their energy. They use a fraction of electricity in comparison to traditional boilers and heating systems. Getting your heat pump to meet your heating requirements means that you can expect your electricity bills to be reduced. Connecting your heat pump to solar panels can make you even less reliant on electricity from the grid, further reducing your heating bill.

Increased Lifespan

Heat pumps are favoured for their durability and they can provide years of reliable service, with a lot less maintenance required than a boiler. Once you have made this initial investment in a heat pump, it will not need to be replaced for a long time. Not only will you begin to make savings on replacements, you will also be reducing your carbon footprint.

Government Funding

Meadowhead Renewables Ltd have partnered with EcoFuture to offer our customers the full support of available government funding and energy efficiency grants. We recommend checking the Home Energy Website for the latest grants and incentives.

Finance

We offer tailored finance packages on all our products including ASHP installations.

Annual Heat Pump Service

As with any boilers it is hugely important to have your Air Source Heat Pump maintained on an annual basis to protect its warranty and ensure it is operating both effectively and efficiently.

Our engineers are hugely experienced and have undertaken specialist maintenance training with leading industry manufacturers including Vaillant and Ideal.

Meadowhead offer an annual service package that caters for all Air Source Heat Pump models from as little as £195.

This includes:

○ Diagnostic checks on performance since initial installation or last service

○ Removal of casing for internal visual checks

○ Gas refrigerant leak tightness test

○ Cleaning of evaporator and fan outlet

○ Removal of contamination from within unit

○ Electrical connection and polarity checks

○ External component and fitting checks

Heat Pump Care Plan

We understand that Air Source Heat Pumps are an emerging technology and offer a different approach to heating our homes. Their efficiency is dependent on some key factors, not least how the have been programmed to operate depending on the flow temperature of your system and size of the pump.

Throughout the different seasons it is important to monitor how your heat pump is operating and ensure you are getting the best efficiency from it.

Our care plan can take this stress away from you and allow you to enjoy a warm comfortable home without the hassle of adjusting controls and the setup of your appliance.

For £22 per month our care plan provides:

○ Annual service of heat pump and central heating system including cylinder and secondary appliances (Hybrid)

○ Free call out to your appliance for any issues or faults that arise over the course of the service plan period

○ For customers with Vaillant Heat Pumps installed with myVAILLANT connect we can remotely monitor your ASHP on a quarterly basis to ensure your system is operating at its optimum efficiency level and set to the correct heat curve. Additionally, we will also be able to proactively monitor your systems diagnostics and recorded faults.

Meadowhead Renewables operate throughout Ayrshire, Dumfries & Galloway, Central Scotland, Fife & Tayside.
